Mobile Library Rolls into Downtown’s Market Square
May 11, 2012: Downtown workers, residents and visitors can satisfy their literary appetites in the midst of the City’s lunchtime bustle when Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s mobile Reading Room returns to Market Square. The Reading Room @ Market Square begins Tuesday, May 15 and runs each Tuesday through October 9, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

February 1, 2012: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh customers will now have greater access to programs, computers, materials and facilities. Beginning Monday, February 20, most Pittsburgh library locations will have expanded hours, opening more evenings, after school and weekends for customer use. In total, library customers will gain an additional 119 hours per week, with all neighborhood libraries open for service Mondays and Fridays. Hours at CLP – Main in Oakland, CLP – Downtown & Business and the Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped will remain unchanged.

January 24, 2012: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Main, located at 4400 Forbes Avenue, will reopen after hours for the Happy Hour crowd from 6:30 - 9 pm for After Hours @ the Library, a 21 or older event for the romantic, lovesick, happily single, happily coupled, haters and everyone in between. The event benefits the continued operations of the Library.

Clubs join to nurture reading
